NIAC Action is the 501(c)(4) lobbying arm of the National Iranian American Council (NIAC), created in June 2015 to engage in direct political lobbying during the push for the JCPOA nuclear deal. Led by Jamal Abdi, it conducts grassroots advocacy, maintains local chapters, and engages political candidates on Iran-related policy. Its creation formalized lobbying activities that NIAC had already been conducting through its 501(c)(3) — activities that were the subject of the Hassan Dai lawsuit controversy.
