Foad Izadi

Foad Izadi is an associate professor at the Faculty of World Studies at the University of Tehran. He appears regularly on Western outlets including Channel 4 News and BBC World Service, typically introduced as an Iranian academic analyst. This framing obscures his documented function as a state media surrogate for the Islamic Republic.

Izadi has publicly advocated for targeting US troops in the Middle East in comments made during periods of elevated US–Iran tension. He has also been documented in discussions about building an "Iran lobby" in the United States — an influence operation strategy aimed at shaping American public and policy opinion.

His public commentary consistently mirrors Islamic Republic official positions on US policy, sanctions, and regional affairs. His appearances on British and international television give these positions a veneer of academic credibility.
