Hamid Hajizadeh

Hamid Hajizadeh was a poet, scholar, and high school teacher in Kerman. On the night of 22 September 1998, Ministry of Intelligence agents entered his home and stabbed him 38 times in his bed. His nine-year-old son Karoon (Karun) was sleeping in his father's arms and was also stabbed to death. The murder of Hajizadeh and his child — one of the most horrifying acts of the chain murders — occurred two months before the more widely publicised assassinations of the Forouhars in November 1998.
