Mohammad Sharif Malekzadeh served as Vice President and head of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization from 2012 to 2013 under President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. He was a close associate of Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei and part of the inner circle that managed cultural heritage affairs throughout the Ahmadinejad presidency, alongside Hamid Baghaei.
Malekzadeh's appointment continued the pattern of Mashaei loyalists controlling the Cultural Heritage Organization, which had served as a power base for the 'deviant current' faction.
