Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan was an Iranian chemical engineer and deputy director of commerce at the Natanz uranium enrichment facility, operated by the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran. On 11 January 2012, he was killed in Tehran when a magnetic bomb was placed on the side of his car by a motorcyclist as he drove to work on Shahid Golnabi Street in the Seyed Khandan district. His bodyguard-driver was also killed. Ahmadi Roshan was the last of four Iranian nuclear-linked scientists assassinated between 2010 and 2012 in the broader 2010–2012 nuclear scientist assassination campaign. Western intelligence sources attributed the killing to Israeli intelligence (Mossad). Iran accused the United States and Israel.
