Pirouz Davani

Pirouz Davani was a leftist political activist, former political prisoner, and editor of the newspaper Pirooz. He disappeared on 29 August 1998. His body was never recovered, but he is believed to have been murdered around 20 September 1998 by agents of the Ministry of Intelligence. His disappearance was one of the earliest of the 1998 wave of chain murders, preceding the more widely publicised killings of the Forouhars, Mokhtari, and Pouyandeh.
