Ettelaat

Ettelaat (اطلاعات, 'Information') is the oldest continuously-published Persian-language daily newspaper in the world, founded in 1926. Under the Shah it was the newspaper of record. On 6 January 1978 it published an article attacking Ruhollah Khomeini as a British agent — triggering the Qom protests that opened the revolutionary cycle. After the revolution it was seized and placed under the Office of the Supreme Leader.
