Amir Hossein Faghihi

Amir Hossein Faghihi was a senior nuclear official who served as head of the Nuclear Science and Technology Research Institute, the principal research arm of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran. He previously served as vice president of the AEOI and held a faculty position at Shahid Beheshti University. He was killed on 13 June 2025 in Israeli airstrikes — the opening strikes of Operation Rising Lion.

Note on spelling: His name appears in some sources as 'Amir Hassan Fakhahi' — these refer to the same individual; the canonical romanisation is Amir Hossein Faghihi.
