Hadi Soleimanpour served as Iran's Ambassador to Argentina at the time of the AMIA bombing in July 1994. Argentine prosecutors named him as a participant in the conspiracy that led to the attack. In 2003, he was arrested in the United Kingdom on an Argentine extradition request. However, a UK court ruled there was insufficient evidence to extradite him and he was released. He subsequently returned to Iran. In 2024, an Argentine court concluded a trial-in-absentia process and issued sentencing orders against him.
