Manouchehr Mottaki

Manouchehr Mottaki served as Foreign Minister under Mahmoud Ahmadinejad from 2005 to 2010, when he was abruptly dismissed by text message while on a foreign visit to Senegal. A career diplomat, he previously served as ambassador to Turkey and Pakistan and as a member of earlier Islamic Consultative Assembly sessions. He ran for the 12th Majlis in 2024 heading the United Front principlist coalition list in Tehran.
