Mohammad Hosseini

Mohammad Hosseini is an Iranian politician and IRGC veteran who served as Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance in Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's second cabinet from 2009 to 2013, and later as Vice President for Parliamentary Affairs under Ebrahim Raisi from 2021 to 2024.
Hosseini joined the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps following the 1979 revolution and served during the Iran-Iraq War. He holds a PhD in Islamic jurisprudence from Tehran University (1994).
Prior to his ministerial appointment, Hosseini served as head of Sorush Publications, deputy director of IRIB, and advisor to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization. As head of the Ministry of Culture, he continued the restrictive cultural policies of his predecessor, tightening controls on media, publishing, and the arts.
