The Ahmadzadeh-Pouyan Group was a clandestine Marxist-Leninist guerrilla cell co-founded by Massoud Ahmadzadeh and Amir Parviz Pouyan in the late 1960s. The group developed a distinct theoretical framework for armed struggle under conditions of dictatorship, articulated most clearly in Pouyan's pamphlet 'The Necessity of Armed Struggle and the Refutation of the Theory of Survival' (1970). In 1971, the Ahmadzadeh-Pouyan Group merged with the urban guerrilla network organised by Bijan Jazani to form the Organization of Iranian People's Fadai Guerrillas (OIPFG), the main Marxist guerrilla organization of the 1970s. The founding act of the merged organization was the Siahkal incident in February 1971.
