The Combatant Clergy Association (Jame'e-ye Rowhaniyat-e Mobarez, JRM) is a conservative clerical political organisation founded in 1977 by a group of clerics including Morteza Motahhari. It is one of the oldest and most powerful political bodies in the Islamic Republic, consistently aligning with the conservative and principlist factions. Key affiliated figures include Ali Larijani and Ali Akbar Nategh-Nouri. It split in 1988 when its left wing broke away to form the Association of Combatant Clerics (MRM).
