33rd Al-Mahdi Division (IRGC)

The 33rd Al-Mahdi Division is an IRGC ground forces combat division that fought during the Iran–Iraq War. It was commanded by Mohammad Jafar Asadi during major operations of that conflict. The division is part of the IRGC Ground Forces (Niru-ye Zamini-ye Sepah) and represents one of the key IRGC formation units that gave the corps its battlefield experience.
