Majid Namjoo is an Iranian politician who served as Minister of Energy in Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's second cabinet from August 2009 to August 2013. He was confirmed by the Islamic Consultative Assembly with 210 out of 290 votes.
As head of the Ministry of Energy, Namjoo oversaw electricity generation and water resources during a period of increasing international sanctions pressure. In October 2012, the European Union placed him on its sanctions list due to his connection to Iran's nuclear program.
Namjoo succeeded Parviz Fattah as energy minister, continuing the pattern of IRGC-affiliated figures holding the portfolio.
