Mehrdad Bazrpash is an Iranian principlist politician who served as Vice President and head of the National Youth Organization under Mahmoud Ahmadinejad from 2009 to 2010, and later as Minister of Roads and Urban Development in Ebrahim Raisi's cabinet from 2022 to 2024.
Bazrpash was formerly CEO of SAIPA and Pars Khodro, two of Iran's largest automakers. He served as a member of parliament and was appointed President of the Supreme Audit Court from 2020 to 2022.
As Minister of Roads, Bazrpash was aboard one of the three helicopters in Raisi's convoy during the May 2024 trip to inaugurate a dam on the Azerbaijan border. President Raisi's helicopter crashed in that incident, killing all aboard, though Bazrpash was in a separate aircraft that landed safely.
