فریدون زندی علیآبادیSenior MOIS officer; head of Iran's intelligence station in Albania (2014–2017), operating under diplomatic cover as first attaché
Fereydoun Zandi Aliabadi is a senior officer of Iran's Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS) who served as head of the intelligence station at the Iranian embassy in Tirana, Albania, from 2014 to 2017. Operating under the title of first attaché, Zandi managed a network of approximately 25 intelligence officers tasked with surveillance and operations against the Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK), whose members had relocated to Albania and were based at Camp Ashraf-3 near Manez.
Zandi coordinated closely with MOIS counterparts in Iraq to build agent networks targeting MEK members. He was replaced as station chief by Mostafa Roudaki at the end of 2017. The subsequent expulsion of Iranian diplomats from Albania, beginning with Ambassador Gholamhossein Mohammadnia in December 2018, was linked to the intelligence activities that Zandi and his successors had directed.
