Manouchehr Khosrodad was a major general in the Imperial Iranian Army and the last commander of the Iranian Army Aviation Command. A helicopter pilot by training, he studied at the French military academy Saint-Cyr and the US Army Command and General Staff College, and rose to command Army Aviation from 1972 until the revolution. He was also head of the Iranian Equestrian Federation.

Following the 1979 Iranian Revolution, Khosrodad was arrested and tried before Sadegh Khalkhali's Islamic Revolutionary Court. On the night of 15–16 February 1979, he was executed by firing squad on the rooftop of the Alavi-Refah School complex in Tehran — one of the four generals executed in the inaugural round of the post-revolution executions of 1979, alongside Nematollah Nassiri, Mehdi Rahimi, and Reza Naji. He reported to Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi.
