Mehdi Rahimi was a senior Iranian army general who served as military governor of Tehran during the final months of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi's reign, a period of intense revolutionary unrest and martial law. In this capacity he was responsible for enforcing martial law in the capital city, including the use of the military against demonstrators.
Following the 1979 Iranian Revolution, Rahimi was arrested and tried before Sadegh Khalkhali's Islamic Revolutionary Court. He was executed on 15–16 February 1979, among the first group of Pahlavi-era officials to face revolutionary justice as part of the post-revolution executions of 1979. He was executed alongside Nematollah Nassiri and two other generals.
