Siamak Rahpeyk

Siamak Rahpeyk is a jurist member of the Guardian Council and its Vice Secretary, responsible for overseeing the Council's executive and electoral affairs. Appointed to the position by Secretary Ahmad Jannati, he has been the operational manager of Iran's candidate-vetting process. He publicly justified the mass disqualification of reformist candidates in the lead-up to the 2020 parliamentary election. He was sanctioned by the US Treasury in February 2020 alongside Ahmad Jannati, Abbas-Ali Kadkhodaei, and others for denying Iranians free and fair elections.
