Ayandeh Bank
بانک آیندهAyandeh Bank was a private Iranian bank formed in 2012 through the merger of Tat Bank, Salehin Credit Institution, and ATI Credit Institution, orchestrated by founder Ali Ansari. Operations began in March 2015 and the bank grew to 270 branches across Iran.
The bank's lending was heavily concentrated in Iran Mall, with approximately 70 percent of its loans directed to entities linked to the mall's development. By 2024, the bank had accumulated $5.1 billion in losses, $2.9 billion in overdrafts from the Central Bank of Iran, and a capital adequacy ratio of negative 600 percent. Iranian authorities accused the bank of operating as a de facto Ponzi scheme.
On 23 October 2025, the Central Bank of Iran revoked Ayandeh Bank's operating licence and merged its assets and deposits into state-owned Bank Melli Iran. The collapse contributed to broader public protests over Iran's banking sector. The United Kingdom sanctioned founder Ali Ansari one week later for alleged IRGC financing.
