The Islamic Iran Participation Front (Jebhe-ye Mosharekat-e Iran-e Eslami), abbreviated IIPF, was the largest and most prominent reformist political party in post-revolutionary Iran. Founded in 1998 by Mohammad-Reza Khatami, it was the main vehicle for the reformist 2nd Khordad movement that swept the 6th Majlis in 2000. The Guardian Council barred all IIPF candidates from running in the 2004 parliamentary election, effectively eliminating the party from parliament. It was formally suspended by the government in 2010 following the Green Movement protests. The party advocated political pluralism, civil society, rule of law, and engagement with the West.
